Registration is now open for the two-day Life Histories in Mind: Mental Ill Health and Learning Disability in Context Conference, which will be held at Manchester Metropolitan University (in the Dalton Building) on the 21-22 of July 2026.

This conference will bring together historians, scholars and practitioners to explore mental ill health and learning disabilities in the context of life and experiential histories.

We are also pleased to announce that our two keynote speakers are Professor Catharine Coleborne and Dr Jane Stockdale.

The early bird cost of the two-day ticket is £160, rising to £200 on the 8th June. There is also the option of purchasing a ticket to attend the conference evening event that will be held at Rain Bar in Manchester for £26.
