HistoryLab+ is the UK’s national network for early career historians. The committee works with our parent institution, the Institute of Historical Research, with learned societies, and with professionals across the education, GLAM, media, and other sectors to provide people with (or on the cusp of) a doctorate in History or a related subject with tailored support in the early stages of their career, no matter in which sector. This support includes career development training, networking opportunities, resources, and a programme of events showcasing recent historical research and projects in a wide variety of specialisms.
We invite all West Country early career historians to our annual end-of-year networking meet up! This December we will be travelling to the hilly, wacky, beautiful city of Bristol: home to Clifton Suspension Bridge, (probably) Banksy, the statue of Edward Colston, Wallace and Gromit, and the leaning tower of Temple Church.
Join us for FREE hot drinks and comestibles at Playground Coffee and for a FREE trip to a local heritage site, followed by dinner and drinks at the Llandoger Trow!
This will be an opportunity for early career historians from the region to meet, share experiences and opportunities, and develop new research collaborations in an informal setting. Members from further afield also welcome.
