Harlaxton Medieval Symposium 2025: The Medieval City - SYMPOSIUM

 

The Harlaxton Medieval Symposium this year will be held at Madingley Hall, Cambridge, and the theme will be ‘The Medieval City’. The convenors are Richard Asquith, Rachael Harkes, and Christian Liddy. The Symposium includes a visit to the Fitzwilliam Museum.

Speakers include Eliot Benbow, Julia Boffey, Janna Coomans, Lisa Demets, Martha Driver, Helen Fulton, Alexandra Gajewski, Kate Giles, Anthony Gross, Jelle Haemers, Eliza Hartrich, Julian Luxford, Alma Poloni, Ad Putter, Adele Ryan Sykes, Shannon McSheffrey and Zoe Opacic. The Pamela-Tudor Craig Memorial Lecture will be delivered by Caroline M. Barron.

A total of seven scholarships are available for PGRs and ECRs whose research interests closely align with the theme of this year’s Symposium. Two scholarships are sponsored by Harlaxton Medieval Symposium, in honour of Barrie Dobson, and five scholarships are sponsored by the Yorkist History Trust.
