Location
Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome, Essex

Frontline: England
Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome, located in the Essex countryside, is hosting this first seminar at the venue. It is a unique setting amongst the historic buildings of this restored First World War aerodrome, one that stood on the frontline against German air raids in 1917-1918. There will be three expert speakers giving talks exploring the imapct of the Great War on the local town of Maldon, which itself suffered in one of the early Zeppelin raids, evidence provided by archeological exploration of early airfields, and the impact of raids on south-east England by Germany’s Gotha bombers. There will also be an object-handling session, a chance to get up close to the vintage aircraft based there and book signings.
The ticket also includes a buffet lunch. Full details at www.StowMaries.org.uk/events
