With regret, we have decided that Susan Pares’s talk on 6 November at 2.30 pm must be Zoom only, as a tube strike is planned which will make in-person attendance difficult for many.
As Armistice Day approaches, we shall hear about
‘”The Sisters’ window for the sisters”‘: the Women’s National War Memorial for the First World War, York Minster’. This first national memorial to the women who died in that conflict was unveiled in June 1925, but is now very little known to the general public and has been little researched.
