Call for book chapters
Following a successful and thought provoking conference on “Writing the Transcendental”, which took place in March at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, we are working on a volume devoted to all types of religious entries in egodocuments in the early modern period (16th through 18th centuries).
We are interested in:
• Expressions of faith in egodocuments
• Descriptions of religions and religious rituals, events, behaviors, gatherings and alike
• Pilgrimages and their accounts in egodocuments (both the spiritual and physical descriptions)
• Elucidations of experiences of religious rituals, events
• Presentation and interpretation of religious differences and/or conflicts
• Religious motivations of undertaken actions and subsequent entry of relevant passages into egodocuments
The above are examples, but do not exhaust the plethora of possible topics and their presentations.
Please bear in mind two principles:
[1] these papers must be based on egodocuments,
[2] these egodocuments have been produced in the early modern period (16th through 18th centuries).

The deadline for chapters will be end of January 2027 (with possible individual extensions). The book is to be published with Brill in 2028.
