The family of the late Brij V. Lal has endowed an annual Brij V. Lal Prize of £1000 under the auspices of Ameena Gafoor Institute for the best published journal article covering the broad subject of Indian indentureship and its specific legacies.

For the inaugural prize, articles published in 2023 and 2024 will be accepted. Entries should be submitted to bvlprize@gmail.com by 15 May 2025.
