Workhouse Lives V: Sex and Violence in the Workhouse - LECTURE

In this fifth annual series of online seminars dealing with ‘Workhouse Lives’ we deal with questions of sex and violence in the workhouse context. Our papers deal with technologies of violence (watch out for the stinging nettles), racial violence, child abuse, the sexual atmosphere of the workhouse and more. Papers take place on the first Tuesday of each month starting 5 November and running online from 5 pm to around 6.15 pm.

The link for booking is here: https://www.ntu.ac.uk/about-us/events/upcoming-events?&query=workhouse

There is no ‘book all’ button because this caused chaos when the organisers tried it! For people unfamiliar with the series, when you reserve a place for any seminar there is no automatic link sent. The audience is very varied and these auto-links tend to disappear or do funny things for some. Rather, on the day before the seminar speakers and audience members will receive a Teams link by email from Steven King. Your details will not be retained thereafter.
