Welsh History Postgraduate Conference & Archives Workshop
3-4 June 2025 | Cardiff University
Call for Papers, deadline – 16 May 2025
The Cardiff Centre for Welsh History is hosting a two-day conference to share new research, provide training in digital humanities and showcase archival collections. The first day will consist of papers from postgraduates and ECRs and a workshop on the value of digital humanities.
The second day will include a visit to Glamorgan Archives and Cardiff University’s Special Collections with archivists showcasing collections and discussing opportunities for collaboration.
Across the two days there will be plenty of opportunities for networking and discussion with established and new scholars of Welsh history. The conference will have an open theme and we welcome proposals for 15-minute papers on all aspects of the history of Wales and from a variety of different disciplines. Masters students, PhD students and recently-completed PGRs are all welcome.
Attendance at the conference is free and lunch and refreshments will be provided. Transportation will be provided for the visit to Glamorgan Archives.
The event is sponsored by Cardiff University and the Learned Society of Wales. We are able to contribute towards the costs of travel expenses, but the amount will depend upon the number of applications we receive. If you would like to apply for a contribution to your travel costs, please note this when you submit your abstract.
