The IMARS (Interdisciplinary Medieval and Renaissance Studies) seminar is delighted to announce our Winter 2023 at seminar series.


6 February | Lesley Smith (Harris Manchester College, Oxford) | ‘”Note to Self”: William of Auvergne Remembers his Audience.’

6 March | Jordan Koel (University of Michigan/Warburg Institute) | ‘Windows into the Workshop: Sculptural Animation and the Legitimization of Sculpture in the Middle Ages’

13 March | Dr Lucia Raggetti (University of Bologna) | ‘How to Pull a Rabbit Out of a Turban? Entertainment and Deception in Arabic Technical Literature’


All seminars are in-person and take place from 6.15 to 7.30 pm.

Location: 16 Taviton Street, room 431, London, WC1H 0BW. The room is accessible via the SSEES building at UCL.
