This year’s Centre for Port and Maritime History one-day War at Sea conference, will be focussing on the end of the Second World War, reflecting on lessons learnt, consequences and impact.
A set of distinguished scholars will be speaking to their latest research covering,
- Hospital Ships at War, 1939-45.
- The Sturdy Incident, 1944.
- Mutinies in the Indian Navy at war’s end.
- Norwegian and other Allied seafarers in the Second World War.
- The British Fishing Industry at the Close of the Second World War.
This friendly, informal gathering is a great way to connect with current research and forge interesting connections. Refreshments are provided throughout the day at a convenient, central Liverpool location.
