Symposium – 16 June 2022, 4 pm BST | Call for Papers, deadline – 25 April 2022
Our symposium will feature three cross disciplinary panels, consisting of 3-4 fifteen minute presentations, followed by a Q&A session.
In order to foster collaboration across the post-graduate community within the field of the long nineteenth century, this event seeks to explore some of the cross-thematic research priorities at the centre of doctoral studies. Each of these three panels offer opportunities to present and discuss cutting-edge approaches and findings to key topics of concern during a period of immense change that continues to inspire reflection.
We invite presentations from any discipline that concerns the long nineteenth century within these three general themes:
- Long Nineteenth-Century Ecologies and Environment
- Global and Trans-National Cultural Exchange in the Long Nineteenth Century
- Reinterpreting the Long Nineteenth Century (Literature/Visual Cultures, etc.)
We welcome presenters of all backgrounds. The conference will take the format of short 15 minute papers, and each panel will contain a Q&A session with time for lots of discussion. Please send short abstracts of no more than 250 words, as well as a short biography, tolong19cmmu@gmail.com by Monday 25th April.
