History Lab is delighted to announce that registration is now open for our collaborative conference, “Teaching in a Time of Crisis”, to be held at the University of Warwick on May 29.
A unique collaboration between HistoryLab+, HistoryLab, and History UK, “Teaching in a Time of Crisis” brings together educators, historians, researchers and practitioners to explore how history education can navigate and respond to contemporary crises.
Panels will focus on the experiences of early-career colleagues amid precarity and overwork, innovative approaches to assessment and module design, the use of games in historical education, teaching American history in the age of Donald Trump, and critical perspectives on Britain’s contested histories.
Our conference will be followed by a remote session on June 4th exploring Canadian perspectives on teaching during times of crisis, followed by an ECR keynote from Dr Jack Hepworth (Newcastle University) discussing the obstacles and opportunities of teaching public history.
