The event is hosted by the Institute of History at Jagiellonian University, Kraków, Poland, and will be held online with the use of MS Teams software.

The language of the event is English. We invite early graduate students, career scholars, and established researchers. The aim of the meeting is to discuss the most recent research in the area of piracy, methods, and approaches applied to their study today.

One of the aims of the seminar is to publish as many as possible of the presented papers, which should be borne in mind. Selection of papers (or all of them) will be published in an established Polish historical quarterly Studia Historyczne, which has been published since 1958, which is a peer reviewed online journal and publishes in the Polish and English languages. It can be visited online at: https://journals.akademicka.pl/studiahistoryczne
