Marconi’s development of wireless telegraphy revolutionised early twentieth-century communications, allowing instantaneous long-distance messaging without the need for cables.
This (non-technical) talk will introduce the history of telegraphy, its development under Marconi, and the practical applications of the technology with special focus on the Lloyd’s of London collection.
