This hybrid seminar examines histories of vaccination laws, focusing on evolving public health discourses of the ‘ethical’ and ‘moral’ in childhood immunisation laws and mandates in Italy, and the history of the ‘personal belief’ exemption from mandatory vaccination in the United States.
Speakers: Maria Teresa Marangoni, PhD candidate in History at the University of Exeter; Jonathan Kuo, MSc student in the History of Science, Technology, and Medicine at the University of Manchester.
