As the world marks the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII and the liberation of Auschwitz, local author Wendy Holden who wrote the bestselling book Born Survivors, will be with us to tell us about a remarkable young man – German, Jewish, and gay – who risked his life daily, defying the Nazis to protect thousands of children in his care.
In conversation with former newsreader and BBC correspondent Robert Nisbet, Wendy will explain how she came across this inspirational untold story, published in the week of Holocaust Memorial Day, and why it still has such resonance today.
