CANCELLED | Friends of The Women's Library Talks Programme: 'Archiving Women's Struggles with the Law'

With great regret, the talk advertised for this coming Wednesday 22 May at LSE Library has had to be cancelled, as our speaker Dr Laura Lammasniemi is very unwell.

We wish her a full recovery and hope to re-schedule her talk for the autumn term.

The Friends of TWL will be continuing this term’s 20th-century themed programme on Wednesday 22nd May at 2.30 pm.

Dr Laura Lammasniemi of Warwick University will be speaking on ‘Archiving women’s struggles with the law‘. Using TWL’s holdings of the Association for Moral and Social Hygiene and of the National Vigilance Association, Dr Lammasniemi’s research focusses on the Police Court Rota records, and the trials of women who were accused of transmitting venereal disease during and after the First World War.

If attending in person, kindly email susan.pares38@gmail.com by 20 May, as this helps with catering plans.
