About this event
The Friends of The Women’s Library talks programme continues with this term’s biographical theme. On Wednesday 19 October, at 2.30 pm, Mary Honeyball will speak on ‘Edith Summerskill – the Life and Times of a Pioneering Feminist Labour MP’, from the biography which she published in July this year.
Mary was Labour MEP for London 2000-2019. During her tenure she acted as Vice-Chair of the European Parliament Women’s Rights and Gender Equality Committee (2018-19), and authored reports on women and sexual exploitation and women and the refugee crisis (2016). She is a former member of the Women’s National Commission, and former Chief Executive of Gingerbread and the National Childbirth Trust.
