Château de Breteuil
On April 8, the 120th anniversary of the signing of the Entente Cordiale, there will be an soirée at the Château de Breteuil, near Paris, launching the Entente Cordiale Prizes for research into this aspect of Anglo-French history.
The event is supported by the LSE and the École des Sciences-Politiques, and will feature a round table discussion (in French) by Sophie Loussouarn, Associate Professor of British Studies at the University of Amiens; Isabelle Rivière, author of Dans l’intimité d’un règne about Elizabeth II; and Stephen Clarke, Fellow of the RHS, curator of the Centre Culturel de l’Entente Cordiale at the Château d’Hardelot and author of a biography of Edward VII: Dirty Bertie, an English King Made in France.
There will also be talks commemorating the Entente Cordiale given by Gérard Larcher, President of the French Senate and by the co-Presidents of the Entente Cordiale Prizes, the Marquis de Breteuil and the Marquess of Salisbury.
