Encounters with History

What impact does history have on our society of the 21st century? How does it shape our understanding of the present and the future? How do histories differ as representations of a national identity? A panel of three internationally renowned historians from France, Germany and the UK: Jean-Noël Jeanneney, Jürgen Kocka and Peter Mandler will explore encounters with history in society, the media, education and the political arena.

This event is organised with the support of the Franco-German Cultural Fund and in cooperation with the German Embassy in London.
