Museum storerooms are filled with objects, and museums are encouraged to rationalise their collections through disposal. This online workshop is for anyone working or volunteering in a UK museum who would like help to put the ‘Off the Shelf’ ethical guidance into practice.
The online session will comprise a presentation about the latest version of the Museum Association’s ethical toolkit for disposal, and explore what some of the changes mean for museums doing disposal. This will be followed by a short workshop, in which participants can ask questions and seek advice from others.
