Women’s History Association of Ireland Conference
The broad theme for this year will be ‘Irish Women and Rural Society, from Medieval to Modern’. Papers will include the following topics:
– Women and paid/unpaid work
– Women in the home
– Political activity
– Women religious
– The marketplace
– Consumerism and material culture of rural women
– Leisure activities (reading, dancing, sports, crafts, etc.)
– Philanthropy
– Courtships or relationships
– Sexuality and sexual behaviour
– Education
– Health and medicine
– Migration
– Girlhood
– Deviance or criminality
