‘Abraham’s Luggage: A Social Life of Things in the Medieval Indian Ocean World,’ Elizabeth Lambourn

Elizabeth Lambourn discusses the challenges of working with medieval lists and the process of researching and writing ‘Abraham’s Luggage,’ her study of mobility and identity in the pre-modern Indian Ocean world based on newly published twelfth century documents from the Cairo Genizah. The talk will be followed by a panel discussion featuring scholars from the fields of ancient history, archaeology, and global history.

This is a public lecture taking place on Tuesday 27 November 2018 at 5.30pm and is followed by a drinks reception. This is a free event and all are welcome.
