A Week of Events Remembering Napoleon lll

From January 9th to the 15th there is a programme of tours, talks and events at Camden Place in Chislehurst. This programme marks 150 years since the death of Napoleon lll at the house. Napoleon was France’s first president and last emperor. He had an remarkable life and during the week authors Ed Shawcross, Edward Hilary Davies and historian Frances Foster will be amongst those sharing his story and the diplomatic challenges his exile caused.

There are also 2 special Latin masses being held at St Mary’s Church Chislehurst.

Camden Place was transformed into a French chateau during the 1860’s and its unique architectural heritage includes a dining room with panelling from the Chateau de Bercy.
