Jinty Nelson Teaching Grants

The Society makes awards annually to promote innovative History teaching in UK Higher Education. From 2023 the Jinty Nelson Teaching Grants — of £1000 each — will facilitate innovative and creative teaching practice, with grants being used to fund new approaches to History pedagogy.

The awards are named for the medieval historian, Dame Jinty Nelson FBA, President of the Society between 2001 and 2005.

Further details of the new-format Jinty Nelson Teaching Grants (2023) will be announced shortly.

  • Submissions for the 2023 Grants will open from Spring 2023. All submissions will be via the RHS Applications Portal.

All enquiries about the 2023 Teaching Grants should be addressed to the RHS. Please contact: administration@royalhistsoc.org.
