‘Who ruled Tudor England’: Early Modern Politics and Power in Retrospect

Emeritus Professor of Early Modern History, University of Southampton, George W. Bernard, will speak to the themes and contribution of his most recent monograph, Who ruled Tudor England: Paradoxes of Power, (Bloomsbury, 2022). Professor Greg Walker, the Regius Professor of Rhetoric and English Literature at the University of Edinburgh, will offer a response before we open the floor to general questions and discussion.

We are delighted to be able to mark Prof Bernard’s retirement with a wine reception that will follow directly after the main event in the courtyard of Avenue campus. This is also a hybrid event.
