Nonconformist attitudes to war and peace in the long twentieth century

The Association of Denominational Historical Societies and Cognate Libraries and the Chapels’ Society cohost this two day non – residential conference.

Speakers will explore a variety of war themes from a nonconformist perspective including conscientious objectors, the experience of German pastors and congregations in England in the second world war, the experience of chaplains and the commemoration of war in both nonconformist buildings and memorials.

Keynote Speakers: Professor Densil Morgan, Professor Clyde Binfield, Professor Peter Ackers and Dr. Andrew Chandler and Dr. Anne Brook.

All are welcome for both days or just one. There is a charge of £23 per day which includes refreshments.
