The next seminar of the Institute of Historical Research’s Partnership seminar series, ‘Risk and Uncertainty in the Premodern World’, will run online on Thursday 20 January, 16:30-18:15 London time. We are delighted to be hosting Francesca Sautman, Anastasia Litina and Éric Roca Fernandez for a seminar on ‘Nature, Risk and Uncertainty’.

Francesca Sautman (City University of New York): Uncertain Times: Weather Events, Hunger, and War in the Memoirs of Claude Haton (c. 1534-c.1605)

Anastasia Litina (Macedonia/Luxembourg) and Éric Roca Fernandez (CERDI-UCA): Celestial Enlightenment: Eclipses, Curiosity and Economic Development among Pre-Modern Ethnic Groups
