Call for Papers, deadline – 29 April 2022

Join us in Canterbury and online for the eighth annual MEMS Festival at the University of Kent. This two-day event celebrates medieval and early modern history from c. 400 – 1800, and welcomes a wide range of interdisciplinary research topics, including but not limited to, politics, religion, economics, art, drama, literature, and material culture. MEMSFest aims to be a friendly space in which postgraduate students, early career researchers, and academics can share ideas and foster conversations, whilst building a greater sense of community. Undergraduates in their final year of study are also welcome at the conference.

We invite abstracts of up to 250-words for individual research papers of 20-minutes in length on ANY subject relating to the medieval and early modern periods. The research can be in its earliest or late stages of development.

We also encourage 700-word abstracts for proposing a three-person panel, presenting on a cohesive subject or theme in medieval or early modern studies. If you have any queries, please contact us at memsfestival@gmail.com.

Deadline for all Paper and Panel Proposals is 29th April 2022. All applications must be submitted through the MEMS fest google form.This opportunity allows you to showcase your research in a friendly environment and to network with fellow scholars from far-reaching institutions.
