Institute of Historical Research Global Birthday Event

The 8 July 2021 marks the exact date 100 years ago of the IHR’s opening ceremony.

To celebrate our centenary we are planning a day-long global online birthday event.

Starting at in the morning and with panels throughout the day we will be bringing together leading historians from around the globe to comment on the state of the discipline within their country or region, the challenges which lie ahead, their memories of the IHR, and their thoughts about the potential role of the IHR for the next 100 years.

We hope you will join us for what will be a celebration of the discipline of history as we think back and look forward.
