Over summer, the IHR Wohl Library and History Lab Plus will be hosting an informal early career historians’ reading group, providing the opportunity to reflect more on some key texts, meet other IHR users and members of the library and academic staff. The first meeting will take place on Tuesday, July 12th from 5:30 to 7pm in the Friends’ Periodical Room. For our first meeting, we will explore the world of digital history. Please read and be ready to discuss the following articles:

D.J. Cohen et al., ‘Interchange: The Promise of Digital History’, The Journal of American History, 95/2 (Sep., 2008), pp. 452-491

L. Putnam, ‘The Transnational and the Text-Searchable: Digitized Sources and the Shadows They Cast’, American Historical Review, (April 2016), pp. 376-402.

Discussions will be over a glass of wine. Places are limited, so please register to join the reading group.
