Dissenting archives: sources and methods

Dr Williams’s Library Seminar Series Dissenting archives: sources and methods

Anne Dunan-Page, Professor of early modern British studies at Aix-Marseille University

This seminar will present an English account of L’Expérience puritaine. Vies et récits de dissidents, a monograph based on seventeenth- and early eighteenth-century Dissenting Church records.

It will explore the ways those documents can open up new channels in early modern Dissenting studies with a particular focus on conversion narratives, ecclesiastical discipline and the sociology of Dissent.
