Expressions of Interest are sought for chapter contributions. A Cultural History of Blood is designed to be published as part of the Bloomsbury Cultural History Series, in six illustrated volumes, each devoted to an examination of blood in one of six historical periods.
Dr Sara Read is editing the early modern volume and is seeking expressions of interest for chapters under the following headings:
1. Life, Family and Heredity
2. Law, Politics and Society
3. Physiologies of Blood
4. Pollution and Disease
5. Consuming Blood
6. Magic, Ritual and Belief
7. Bloodshed
8. Visualising Blood
Completed chapters will be due in December 2022.
