An Afternoon with Traditional Pacific Navigators

Date / time: 19 February, 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm

An Afternoon with Traditional Pacific Navigators will provide an exciting and unique opportunity to hear from traditionalist Pacific voyaging leaders and navigators, Pacific navigation experts and the Pacific Traditions Society live with an opportunity for questions. The navigators are currently on tour to promote and share knowledge about the traditional navigational techniques. Typically, this information is passed down ancestrally through the oral tradition so this it will be a rare privilege to be able to hear from the experts and users themselves.

To be held on 19 February from 1 pm to 4.30 pm in the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, attendees will spend the afternoon immersed in the ancient cultural knowledge of traditional Pacific interisland voyagers and navigators. The event is open to the public and registration is now open. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Vaka Taumako Project.
