Investing in Publications

Constitution of Athens. British Library.

The RHS has a long and proud tradition of publishing across a wide range of subjects and formats, from our annual Transactions to our Camden Series of primary source editions to the Bibliography of British & Irish History

The Society is investing in its publications to both ensure their continued excellence and innovation, and to make them more widely accessible. Digital technologies have had a profound impact on academic publishing, especially with the advent of electronic editions and Open Access. These formats often come with prohibitive costs to authors, especially those early in their career. Through our New Historical Perspectives series and other initiatives, the Society is aiming to widen access to historical scholarship by providing young scholars with platforms and assistance to make use of digital editions and Open Access.
