Annales in English: tradition and innovation in historical research

The journal Annales – founded in 1929 – has recently been launched as a journal in English, and online, in collaboration with CUP. This event will consider the journal’s current orientation in historical research, and the possibilities that its operation in English offers to scholars in the UK, especially those in early stages of their lives as historians. The panel include Annales‘s editor, the project’s manager, and historians with reflections on the legacy and prospects of histories inspired by Annales:

  • For Annales: Etienne Anheim and Nicolas Barreyre
  • On Annales: Matthew Champion, Colin Jones, Miri Rubin, and Anne Simonin

There will be an occasion for discussion and tea will follow.
